Robert Scott Gardner, 57, of Manchester, passed away, Thursday, August 13, 2015, at Ocean Medical Center, Brick.  Born in Perth Amboy, he resided most of his life in Edison, moving Cliffwood Beach in 1999, then to Manchester in September 2014.   He was a florist for Flynn’s Florist, Edison; and with 1-800-FLOWERS, South Plainfield.  He was one of a kind, loving, generous and sweet spirited.  He never complained and never had a bad word to say about anyone.  He was a man after God’s own heart. 

Robert was predeceased by his parents, William and Alice “Pat” (Schlapak) Gardner.  He is survived by his beloved wife, Veronica (Pauciello) Gardner of Manchester; his two loving dachshunds, Coco Loco and Speckles; two brothers, Rick and Billy Gardner, both of Edison; a cousin, Debbie Howarth and Adrienne of N. Brunswick; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Debbie and Tony Melnyk of Keyport; and brother-in-law, Joey Pauciello of Laurence Harbor; father-in-law and his wife, Joseph M. Pauciello and Mary Ann; Veronica’s step siblings, Matthew and Lea Dimitracopoulos; Cheryl and Tom Giordano of FL; and Dina and Chris Benford of Cliffwood Beach; best friend, Jim Phillips; nieces and nephews, Kelly “Pumpkin,” Justin, Kourtney, Kevin, Stephanie, Joseph, Shayla, Savannah, Diana, JoJo, Sal, Shawna, Joy, Damien, Christina, Emily, David, Christine, Goddaughter – Sweet Bree, Sammy, Kristy, Kariann, Mercedes, AJ, Sklyer and Evan; and many more friends that he loved like family.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

At the direction of the family, Robert was privately cremated.  A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 5, 2015, 2PM, at the Metuchen Assembly of God Church, 130 Whitman Ave., Metuchen, NJ  08840. Please call the church to RSVP by 9/2/2015 (732/549-4163).  Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ  07735, was entrusted with the cremation arrangements.  Donations may be made in memory of Robert to the Metuchen Assembly of God Church or Jimmy Swaggart Ministries @ www.JSM.org.
