Regina “Joann” McLaughlin, 73, of Old Bridge/Cheesequake Village, passed away, Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. She was the co-owner and co-founder of the Chocolate Village, Hazlet, with her long-time friend and business partner, Liz Vucina. Joann enjoyed cooking, chocolate making and crocheting. She loved spending time with friends and many years ago, she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary with the Keyport-Matawan Elks.
Joann was predeceased by her beloved husband, James P. McLaughlin in 2013. She is survived by two sons, James McLaughlin, Jr. and his wife Patty; and Bernard Joseph McLaughlin and his wife Regina; three cherished grandchildren, Maura, Robert and James; and an adored niece Tracey Vavrecan. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 18, 2016, from 1-3 & 6-8PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ 07735; and Friday, August 19, 2016, 9:30 AM, with a 10AM service at the funeral home.
