Raymond R. Kessler

Raymond Robert Kessler, 73, of Laurence Harbor, passed away peacefully at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel, on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, surrounded by his family. Ray was born in Woodbury, NJ and lived in Philadelphia, PA, and the South Jersey area, before settling in Laurence Harbor.   He served in the Army from 1963-1966, and was deployed to Korea and Dominican Republic before his Honorable Discharge. 

After his military service, Ray worked for the Philadelphia Naval Yard for many years.  At the same time, he also volunteered for the Voorhees Animal Welfare Shelter, where he met his wife of 32 years, Rosemary.  Raymond then became Site Manager for Somerset Towers in Cherry Hill.  After 10 years there, he moved on to Parkview at Madison, Laurence Harbor, where he remained Site Manager for the last 21 years.

Ray is survived by his beloved wife, Rosemary (Brennan) Kessler; two sons, Raymond and his wife Christine; and Robert; two cherished grandchildren, Abigail and Ray; brother, Richard and his wife Gail; a cousin, Lauren Bobby and her husband Michael; two nieces, Jennifer and Melissa Lefebvre; and his beloved dog, CoCo.   He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by family and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 21, 2017, from 8AM to 10AM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ  07735.  Interment will follow at the New St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr, NJ.  You may post a condolence to the family and the funeral home website www.dayfuneralhome.com.
