Michael J. Morello, Jr.

Michael J. Morello, Jr., 72, of Aberdeen, passed away, Monday, January 25, 2016, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel.  Born in Jersey City, he was raised in North Arlington, married and moved to Rutherford for 30 years, moving to Aberdeen six years ago.  He worked for Aloris Tool, as a sales rep; and Home Depot for 20 years, the last six years in the Hazlet store.  He was a Giant’s fan and a season ticket holder since 1976; and he loved the beach.  Michael was a communicant of St. Clement RC Church, Matawan.

Michael was predeceased by his parents, Michael J. and Katherine (Giordano) Morello, Sr.; and a son, Brian M. Morello in 2006.  He is survived by his beloved wife, Maureen (Kenny) Morello; three loving daughters; Julia Powers and her husband Liam; Linda C. Piarulli and her husband Sal; and Leigh K. Moltz and her husband Fred; and 11 cherished grandchildren, Kara, Liam, Molly, Collin, Adrianna, Ryan, Isabella, Nicholas, Gabriella, J.R. and Matteo.  He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by family and friends.

Visitation will take place on Friday, January 29, 2016, from 2-4 & 7-9PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ  07735; and Saturday, 9AM, at the funeral home, with a 10AM Funeral Mass at St. Clement RC Church, Matawan.  Cremation will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Michael to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.  To post a condolence to the family or for directions to the funeral home, please visit www.dayfuneralhome.com.
