Frank G. Fischler

Frank “Pop” Fischler, 97 of Keyport, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2012 at home.
Born in Matawan, Frank has lived in the Keyport area all of his life.
Frank served the United States Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater of Africa.  
He was an avid fisherman and life member of the Keyport Yacht Club.  Frank was also involved with the Bayshore Variety Pigeon Club for many years.  
Frank was predeceased by his wife Alyce Fischler; a daughter, Kathleen Johnston of Jacksonville, Florida; five siblings William, Joseph, Peter, Ann Kulis and Helen Patonic; as well as one grandson James Hendershot of Jacksonville, Florida.
Frank is survived by a son, Frank Fischler and his wife Marilou of Keyport and a sister Barbara Basko of Cream Ridge.
He also leaves behind seven cherished grandchildren; Frank, William and Lauren Fischler all of Keyport; Robert and Deborah Hendershot, both of Jacksonville, Florida; Frances Baylor and Todd Johnston also of Jacksonville, Florida and five great grandchildren.
Frank also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Family and Friends are invited Monday, December 17, 2012 from 2-4 & 7-9PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple place, Keyport, New Jersey, 07735, with a Funeral Home service in the evening at a time to be announced.
Cremation will be private.
