Domenica (Caputo) Spinelli

Domenica “Minnie” Spinelli (nee Caputo), 86, recently of Matawan, passed away Monday, October 10, 2016 at Atrium Senior Living of Mattoon.

 Domenica was born in New York City, NY and was a lifelong resident of Little Italy (Manhattan).

She was a Pre-Kindergarten teacher for many years at St. Patrick’s Elementary School of Manhattan, NY.  She would retire from teaching in 1994.

Domenica was pre-deceased by her husband, Charles M. Spinelli; parents Joseph Caputo and Josephine Caputo (nee Minardo ) as well as 6 siblings.

She is survived by her children Jo-Ann Spinelli of Parlin, Charles Spinelli, Jr. and children of Cliffwood Beach, and John Spinelli and his wife, Beverley, of San Diego, CA and a sister, Jean Zavattieri of  Cape Cod, MA.

Domenica also leaves behind five cherished grandchildren Joseph, Lorraine, Michael, Cejay and Kayla, as well as, three step-granddaughters, Aimee, Staci and Megan of San Diego, CA.

 A visitation will be held for Domenica on Wednesday, October 12, 2016, from 4PM to 9PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ 07735.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 13, 2016, 9:15AM from the funeral home for a 10:00AM Mass at St Joseph’s Church of Keyport. 

Burial will follow in Forest Green Memorial Park Cemetery of Morganville, NJ.
