I am so sorry to learn of Bill's passing. He and I grew up together, from children at church though high school. He was a wonderful guy, and I know he will be missed terribly. My thoughts and prayers will be with Bill's family and friends.

I am so sorry to hear of Bill's passing. We were good friends in high school (band especially). I always wondered where he'd gotten to! I left the area 34 years ago, but do like to keep abreast of old friends. To you, Carol, know that I thought of Bill as a wonderful, friendly, and honest person. I am sure he held to all of those things throughout his life.

I was sorry to hear of Bill's passing. I enjoyed meeting him in Minneapolis where we had a lot of fun exploring the city.. In turn he did such a great job of introducing me to Kansas City that I moved there and I've been there ever since married top a fellow Jewell alum. my thoughts are with you Carol.

Carole~
Most mornings my breakfast is a bowl of Cheerios. This morning a raised a spoonful to my loving, kind and funny cousin, Bill. During one of my last visits with Nelda, I drove her to Excelsior Springs to look around and have her tell me stories. She pointed out where the CONOCO sign had hung. She told me she liked to walk past it pushing her brilliant Billy in the stroller because he would point in recognition (thanks to Cheerios) at the Os, as if he could read. I am so sad...but most of my memories of Bill make me laugh...out loud. Do you remember when we gathered for Nelda's 90th and went into a bookstore? I overheard Bill exclaim, "Unix! I love Unix!" I was so amused that my cousin was so interested in eunuchs. I am thinking of you and sending loving thought your way. Ellen

During one of my last visits with Nelda, I drove her to Excelsior Springs to look around and have her tell me stories. She pointed out the place where the CONOCO sign had hung. She said she liked to push her brilliant Billy past it in the stroller because he would point in recognition of the Os, as if he could read. I am so sad, but my memories of Bill make me laugh...out loud! I was so intrigued when he went off to William Jewell and became a fraternity guy. I reckon he shared only a very small bit of his hijinks with us. When we gathered for Nelda's 90th, do you remember going into that bookstore in KC? I heard Bill exclaim, "Unix! I love Unix!" All I could wonder was why my cousin was so interested in eunuchs...
I am thinking of you and sending loving thoughts your way,
Ellen

Carole, we were so shocked to learn of Bill's passing. John remembers many times when we visited in MO as Bill was just a few years older than Tricia and Ellen and they enjoyed those times together. One of my memories is Aunt Nelda trying to get him to eat Lima Beans. If he ate five he could have desert. We have not seen you since Grandma Korteling died many years ago as I recall, but we send our love and prayers. John and Judy

Carole, I am so very sorry to hear of Bill's death. I have so many fond memories of him, Uncle Hank, and Aunt Nelda in Excelsior Springs. And sometimes Nelda and Bill would drive to Lebanon when our family visited there. There is a song I associate with him for some reason. I think it was popular during one of our summer visits. Mungo Jerry. In the Summertime. Sending love and hugs to you! Tricia

I am shocked and saddened to hear the news of Bill's sudden death. I am so sorry for your loss Carole and family. I have wonderful memories of Bill. He was a wonderful friend and was best man in our wedding. He had an incredible smile and was a very kind and gentle soul. But he also had a huge spirit and a great sense of humor.
