I worked with Chief McCarthy in the 3rd battalion for over 20 years. He was always a leader and a battalion chief that truly cared about the safety of the firefighters under his command. If he wasnt forced to retire due to age restrictions,he would probably still be out there fighting fires.He was a great friend and a great teacher.Condolenses to his family and friends.REST IN PEACE CHIEF!!!!!!
