Ruth Loretta (Grunwald) Prahar

Ruth Loretta (Grunwald) Prahar, 96, of Morganville, passed away, Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel.  Born in Jersey City, she resided in Hazlet prior to moving to Morganville.  She worked as a clerk with Brookdale Community College, Lincroft, before retiring.  She was a member of the Gethsemene Lutheran Church, Keyport, as well as a member of the choir and the altar guild.

Ruth was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert Prahar; her parents, John and Sarah (Kellett) Grunwald; and her siblings, Helen DeGennaro and John Grunwald.  She is survived by her loving children, Susan DeStefano and husband Peter of Morganville; Roberta Martin and husband Bruce of Woodbridge; and Corinne Jones of Indiana; six cherished grandchildren, Robert, Rachel, Ronnie, Callie, Alison and Kimberly; and ten precious great grandchildren; Luke, Mya, Gabriel, Darrien, Lily, Logan, Juan, Bella, Kristopher and Brandon.  She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.

At the direction of the family, Ruth was privately cremated.  A memorial gathering will take place on Saturday, May 14, 2016, from 1-3PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ  07735, with a 2PM memorial service.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Ruth to any local Lions Club.  You may post a condolence to the family or obtain directions to the funeral home @ www.dayfuneralhome.com.
