Lisa Marie Martinez

Lisa Marie Martinez, 36, of Old Bridge, passed away, Saturday, August 6, 2016, at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center, New Brunswick.  She was born in Red Bank, November 2, 1979.

Lisa was predeceased by her father, Jose I. Martinez in 2010; and her brother, Jose Martinez in 1993.  She is survived by her mother, Debra (Maring) Martinez Pacansky; and many other relatives. 

Lisa was pure in heart and spirit, and she will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family, friends and caretakers.  She endured a life with significant health problems, but was generally more accepting of her plight than others with fewer challenges.  Lisa loved music, liked to sing, and creatively made up songs, parodies, and stories on the fly.  Anyone who spent more than a few minutes with her probably has a humorous story to tell. Similar to other complex naming traditions, she gave everyone she knew a special nickname, of which, only she knew the full meaning.  Everyone who received one considered it a badge of honor and proudly compared notes.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, August 20, 2016, from 2-4PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ  07735, with a 3:15PM service at the funeral home.  Burial will be private.   In lieu of flowers, please send balloons.  Donations may also be made in Lisa’s memory to the National Kidney Foundation at www.kidney.org/donation; Autism of New Jersey at https://autismnj.org/donate_now or to the family to assist with funeral expenses.  You may post a condolence to the family at the funeral home website www.dayfuneralhome.com.
