Dolores Ann (Dahlen) DeGroat

Dolores Ann DeGroat, 73, recently of Cheesequake Village, Matawan passed away Friday, August 26, 2016 at Robert-Wood Johnson Hospital of New Brunswick surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in New York and was a former resident of Brooklyn before moving to New Jersey.

Dolores worked as an Executive Assistant for JP Morgan Chase in New York City for 30 years, retiring in 2005.

She loved her dog Chloe, was a devoted wife to her husband Walter, and a devoted mother and grandparent.  Dolores loved spending time with her grandchildren and working in her garden.

Dolores was predeceased by her loving husband Walter in 2008.

She is survived by her children William DeGroat and his wife Jackie of Hazlet; Debra Lyons of Old Bridge; and Jennifer Nikolakos and her husband Elias of Brooklyn, New York.

Dolores also leaves behind six loving grandchildren Margaret, Christopher, Will, Anastasia, Alyssa and Krista.

Additionally, Dolores leaves behind her sisters-in-law Addie and Lillian as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

At the request of the family, cremation was private.

A memorial visitation will be held for Dolores on Tuesday August 30, 2016 from 1-5PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, New Jersey 07735.
