William "Bill" Francis Mariano

    William "Bill" Francis Mariano, 77, of Matawan passed away Tuesday April 18, 2023 at Bayshore Community Hospital of Holmdel.

    He was born in Brooklyn, New York to the late Joseph Mariano and Rose (De Salvo) Mariano.

    William received his Bachelors degree and Masters degree at Fordham University and worked as an Insurance Broker for thirty years with New York Life Insurance Company and would retire in 2002. He would return to higher education to work as an Adjunct Professor of English for various Colleges, last working for Middlesex County College.

    William is also predeceased by his daughter Anne Mariano.

    He is survived by his beloved wife Patricia (Russo) Mariano; children Mark Mariano and his wife Danielle of Hershey, Pennsylvania, Christine Encarnacion and her husband Alex of Hazlet; and six dear grandchildren Madeline and  Courtney McCurdy, Will Mariano, Christian Encarnacion, Tess Mariano and Sabrina Encarnacion. He is also survived by his lifelong friend, John LaBarca. 

    Both William and his wife Patricia were active parishioners with St. Benedict's RC Church of Holmdel for over 35 Years.

    William served in the capacity of Eucharistic Minister and taught CCD Classes on Sundays at the Church.

    Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation for William tomorrow, Thursday April 20, 2023  5PM to 9PM at Day Funeral Home 361 Maple Place Keyport, New Jersey 07735 and again on Friday April 21, 2023 9AM at the funeral home for a 10AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Benedict's RC Church of Holmdel.  

    Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery of Keyport.
