William J. Henderson Jr., 73 of Vineland, NJ died at Alaris Health in Irvington, NJ on March 27, 2021 after a long illness.

He was born June 24, 1947 in Manhattan, New York and resided there until 1954 when the family moved to Matawan and Cliffwood Beach.

William graduated from St. Joseph's School of Keyport in 1960 and then graduated from Matawan High School in 1965.

He later went on to attend Brookdale College from 1977 to 1978 majoring in Radio Communication.

William joined the US Army in 1965 and was stationed at Fort Dix and overseas in Korea and Japan.  He would leave the Army in 1973 after 9 years and resided in Kentucky and Georgia before moving back to Cliffwood Beach, Keyport and Manahawkin.

He would later move to Portage, Pennsylvania in 1982 and owned and operated his own radio station for nearly 15 years.

After he sold the radio station in 1997 he bought a house in Vineland which is where he has resided for the past 24 years with his wife Kimie.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Affairs in Vineland and the Vineland Historic Car Club.

William (Bill) Henderson is predeceased by his father William J. Henderson Sr. on September 15, 2008 and his mother Angela Mazza Henderson on April 17, 2012; Paternal grandparents of Brooklyn, NY William J. Henderson in 1936 and Rose O'Day Henderson in 1963; Maternal grandparents of Matawan Giovanna Cavarra Mazza in 1962 and Carmelo Mazza in 1971.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years,  Kimie O. Henderson and four beloved children William J. Henderson III of Massachusetts, Dawn K. Henderson Peters and her husband Robert of Levittown, PA, Mariko A. Henderson Layton and her husband Mathew Layton of Jackson, and Yoshiteru Henderson and his wife Melissa Hall Henderson of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

William also leaves behind 7 beloved grandchildren Dustin, Elizabeth, Leif, Ari, and Sophia Henderson, and Kai and Tage Layton, who are twin grandsons.

Also surviving are his siblings Johanna (Joanie) Henderson Haydukiewicz and her husband David of Parlin, MaryEllen Henderson Dispenza and her husband Robert of Hazlet, and Patrick Henderson of Phoenix, Arizona; a cousin David Goodwin and his wife Marie Koehl Goodwin; a best friend Thomas Strauss and his wife Beverly of Neptune Township and many cousins, nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews

Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation for William on Thursday April 1, 2021 at Day Funeral Home 361 Maple Place Keyport, NJ 07735 from 9AM to 11AM with a service at the funeral Home at 10:30AM.

Entombment will follow at Saint Joseph's Cemetery of Keyport.
