Bill was born in Hoboken and raised in Union City, NJ, moving to Cliffwood Beach in 1961. He is a graduate of Emerson High School, Union City and St. Peter's College, Jersey City. Bill passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 1st, at Bayshore Hospital with his loving family by his side.
Bill's career began at General Instrument Company in Newark before becoming the proprietor of Gleason's Sunoco in Hazlet for 20 years. Later, he would work for Rickel's, the Old Bridge Board of Education, and Costco, retiring in 2002.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, William and Mae Dolan, his siblings Ella Cormican, John Dolan, Ann Ferreria, and James Dolan. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Claire; his children, Robert Dolan and his wife, Tina; Karen Politte and her husband, John; and Diane Resciniti and her husband, Joseph; and his grandchildren- Lianne, Nicholas, Kristin, Deanna, Erin, Sarah, Lindsey, and Jenna. He is also survived by his siblings Thomas and Edward Dolan, Mary Russo, and Maureen DeFonce.
Bill was a communicant of Jesus the Lord Church, Keyport. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Diabetes Association or the Monmouth County SPCA.
A visitation for Bill will be held on Friday, October 4, 2019 from 2-4 and again at 7-9 at Day Funeral home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport NJ, 07735. Friends and family are welcomed back to the funeral home on Saturday at 11AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Lawrence Church at 12. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Red Bank.
