William Baker Obituary

   William Adrian Baker, 71, of Old Bridge, NJ passed away on October 26, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.  

    Bill was born on December 14, 1951 in Newark, NJ.  After attending Nutley High School he went on to graduate from Pierce College, earning a degree in Business Management.  Bill worked at Bell Telephone and retired from Verizon before continuing his career at School Construction Authority. 

    He was a resident of Old Bridge for 35 years where he served two terms on the Town Council, including two years as President. Bill was a member of the Old Bridge Recreation Committee, the Old Bridge Golf Course Committee and the Friendly Sons of Shillelagh.  He was very involved in youth sports, serving as President of the Cheesequake Baseball and Softball Association, Manager of the Yard Dogs Baseball team, and coached little league for many years. 

    Bill quietly made the world a better place and will live on in his wife of 42 years, Audrey, his three children, Jillian E, Meghan M. (Brian) and William F. (Cara), and his grandson and namesake, Baker John. 

    Bill was predeceased by his mother, Audrey Ginda Baker, father Charles Baker, mother-in-law Audrey Brandmayr Fuller, father-in-law John J. Fuller, sister Patricia, and brother Kenneth.  

    He is survived by his sisters Susan Casale, Ginger Scholer (Richard), Kim Baker and Lisa Spaner, brothers-in-law John Fuller (Karen) and George Fuller, and sister-in-law Kathy Fuller. Bill is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.  

    A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 30th at 10:00AM at St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, in Old Bridge, N.J.  Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers if you would like to honor Bill’s memory please make a donation to Old Bridge Little League, P.O. Box 854, Old Bridge, NJ  08857. Please include William A. Baker on the memo.
