Vito W Galante, 92, of Cheesequake Village Matawan, NJ passed away Thursday, April 7th, at JFK Medical Center, Edison.
Vito was born in Newark, NJ on May 9, 1929, to the late Thomas and Rose Galante.
He served in the U.S. Army proudly in the Korean War. Vito raised his family in Old Bridge and was a truck driver for many years.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Lawrence, a member of the Cheesequake VFW #6761, Past Old Bridge Township Committeeman, and past President at Cheesequake Village.
Vito is predeceased by his parents, and his first wife Vivian Galante and second wife Connie Galante and siblings Anthony, Sara Angline, Mary Figluzzi, Ann Aulenbach, Josephine Angline and Rocco. He is survived by his loving son Thomas Galante and daughter Maria Galante and four devoted grandchildren Tatiana Roser, Nicole, Tommy and Sophia Galante.
Visitation will be held 2 PM to 6 PM on Sunday, April 10th at Day Funeral Home and again will be held 9 AM to 9:45 AM on Monday, April 11th at Day Funeral Home 361 Maple Place Keyport, New Jersey 07735.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 AM on Monday, April 11th at St. Lawrence RC Church in Laurence Harbor, NJ. Entombment will take place at St. Catharine's Cemetery in Sea Girt, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Research.
