Robert John Kline

Robert J. Kline, 81 of Jensen Beach, Fl., beloved husband of Carol Kline, passed away on May 21, 2021 with his family by his side.  He was predeceased by his son, Robert, and his parents, Robert and Margorie Kline, lifelong residents of Union Beach. 

 After high school, Bob joined the Navy and was assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Hancock (CVA-19) which he served for three years.  He worked for International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF) for 38 years until his retirement to Florida.  Bob always led an active lifestyle and enjoyed fishing, golfing, marathon running, biking and walking.  He was a sports enthusiast who liked watching all kinds of sports, especially college sports.  Bob also loved to listen to Johnny Mathis.  Bob's life was distinguished by his unwavering faith, compassion, and his dedication to his wife, family and friends.  

Bob is survived by his wife of forty years, Carol, his children Richard Gordon (Donna), Michael Gordon, Glen Gordon, Suzanne Ruda (Wendy), Jessica Torphy, and brothers Donald (Fran) and Dennis (Maria), and brother in law Mel Ullmeyer (Bonnie), in addition to loving grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited Thursday, May 27, 2021 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM and Friday, May 28, 2021  9:15 AM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Pl., Keyport NJ 07735.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10 AM at St. Joseph RC Church, Keyport.  Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Keyport.
