Robert Fanto, 86 of Aberdeen passed away Thursday September 14, 2023 at Bayshore Community Hospital of Holmdel.
Robert was a man who thrived on meaningful conversations and never shied away from a good debate. As a sports fan, he liked watching the Mets, coaching and umpiring
baseball, and playing golf, where he enjoyed both the challenge and the camaraderie of the game. Remarkably active, he biked through all five boroughs of New York City with
his son and daughter, even into his 80s, a testament to his enduring vitality. As a soup kitchen volunteer, he was more than just a helping hand; he was a familiar face that
guests often asked about. But it was his love for his family that truly defined him. Reliable and loving, he is the bedrock of many cherished family memories that endure.
Robert was born in Brooklyn to the late Sylvia (Burman) Fanto and Francis Fanto. He was also predeceased by his sister Sandra Panopoulos.
Robert is survived by his loving wife JoAnn (Setteducate) Fanto; his loving children Susan Halloran and her husband Daniel of Old Bridge, New Jersey and Stephen Fanto
and his wife Lori of Brooklyn, New York; three dear grandchildren Nicole and Alyssa Halloran and Jack Fanto; and a beloved sister Frances Richards of Arizona.
Robert obtained his Bachelors of Business from New York University and was a Human Resources Director working for the Pamarco Company of Roselle until his retirement.
Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation for Robert on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 from 4-8PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place Keyport, New Jersey 07735
and on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 10AM at the Funeral Home for an 11AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Benedict's Roman Catholic Church of Holmdel.
After the mass, a Repast will take place. All are welcome to join the family at Ponte Vecchio Restaurant, 3863 Route 516 East, Old Bridge NJ.
