Phillip F. Ward, 79, of Union Beach, NJ passed away Thursday, January 7th, at his residence with his family by his side.
Phillip was born in Rahway, NJ, on January 17, 1941 to the late Woodrow and Della Jean Ward. He lived in Cliffwood prior to moving to Union Beach 58 years ago. He served our country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Phillip worked for Suburban Propane in Cliffwood as a driver for many years. He was a member and past Chief of the Union Garden Fire Company in Union Beach, he loved working in his yard and home. Besides his family his greatest joy was his cookies and coffee.
Phillip is predeceased by his parents, his first wife Judith and daughter Alice Woodhead.
He is survived by his loving wife Alice Ward, devoted children Theresa Gunsauls, Judith Ervin, Lynnann Esbrandt, Ralph Long and Thomas Long. Also surviving are his brothers Lee and Larry Ward and 16 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren with one on the way.
Visitation for Phillip will be Sunday January 10, 2021 fro 2-6 at the funeral home and again Monday morning at 10am. A funeral service will be held Monday 11am at the funeral home and graveside service will be held at Cedarwood Cemetery in Hazlet at 11:45am.
