Peter J. Rowley, 86, of Matawan, NJ passed away on March 10, 2022 at Raritan Bay Hospital in Old Bridge, NJ.
Peter was born in Newark, NJ to his late parents, Joseph and Margaret (Connor) Rowley. After high school, Peter proudly served as a United States Marine in the Korean War and was honorably discharged At the age of 23, Peter married his sweetheart, Joan O’Donnell and spent a further 62 years happily married. Peter worked as a supervisor for Tingley Rubber Corp. in South Plainfield, NJ for 42 years and retired in 2002.
Peter was a proud member of the American Legion in Keyport, NJ and the VFW Cheesequake, along with being an active parishioner at St. Lawrence.
Peter is predeceased by his son, Paul Rowley and his great grandson, Paul.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Catherine Joan Rowley, along with his children; Peter Rowley and his wife Monica of Austin, Texas, Patricia Rowley of Berlin, and Patrick Rowley and his wife Becky of Huntsville, Texas; his brother Ernest DelliPaoli and his wife Mildred of Jackson, NJ.; his grandchildren, Peter, Christopher, Tara, Justin, Colin, Erin, and Emily; and his great-grandchildren, Greyson, Tanner, Maeve, and Nolan.
Peter had a passion for all history and loved drawing and painting. He would often be seen outdoors enjoying nature, listening to music, and drinking a beer. Peter was a great father, friend, uncle, and overall all a great human being who will be missed by all.
Visitation will be held, Monday, March 14, 2022 from 2-4 and 7-9 at Day Funeral Home in Keyport, NJ. A mass will take place at St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at 10:00am.
