Adoring husband and caretaker, George C Vanderbilt Jr, regrets to announce the passing of his beloved wife, Patricia Vanderbilt of Matawan, NJ on Wednesday February 17, 2021 at the age of 78. Born on December 31, 1942. Pat was the fourth of four children, born to John and Pearl Thibaut and was raised in the Laurence Harbor, Cliffwood Beach and Matawan area

A selfless, warm and caring person, she dedicated her life to family (and her beloved Mets). If you were lucky enough to enter her orbit, you were treated to a delicious meal (famous for her pot roast, mashed potatoes and gravy), a kind word, warm smile, endless love and positive reinforcement. Feeling down and out, in need of a sympathetic ear, love without judgment, just visit mom/grandma; she would unearth silver linings where none previously existed and your outlook would brighten.

Fiercely protective and immensely proud of her flock: sons, George and wife Susan, Steven and wife Auris; grandchildren, George IV, Victoria, Tyler, Liam, Angelica, Alex, Olivia and great grandchildren Raymond and Adeline, they were all enriched by her spirit, endlessly spoiled by her generosity and smothered with her kindness

In a world searching for unity and kindness, they need look no further than the example set by Patricia Vanderbilt. Honor her legacy. Be kind. Be nice. Be like Pat.

She is predeceased by her:

Visitation for Patricia will be Saturday 9-11am at Day Funeral Home 361 Maple Place Keyport, NJ 07735 followed by a 11am prayer at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Old Tennent Cemetery, Manalapan.
