Mark A. Kenney, 67 of Shrewsbury, New Jersey passed away peacefully Monday, August 21st.
Mark was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on September 2, 1955, the son of the late Martin and
Mary (McKeon) Kenney.
The family moved to the Jersey Shore in 1960 residing in Union Beach. Mark was a proud
Seraph, who graduated from Mater Dei High School in Middletown where he starred in baseball
and basketball. He continued his education and athletic career at Glassboro (Rowan) University
graduating in 1977.
Upon graduation, Mark began his professional career at IFF (International Flavors &
Fragrances). After twenty-five years of employment, Mark retired as Production Manager.
Following his retirement he and his wife, Patricia moved to Hutchinson Island, Florida.
Mark was a devoted sports enthusiast. He played fastpitch softball for nationally ranked
Stafford Tire for many years. When he laid down his bat and glove, he picked up golf clubs. He
was a lifelong devoted Yankees fan, rarely missing a televised game.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory: his wife Patricia and his siblings Marty (Kathy) Kenney
and their children Marty Jr., Chris, and Erin Behn; Brian (Jeri) Kenney, and his daughters Tonja
Goins, Briana, Tiffany, and Brittney: Maurita (Tony) Vecchio and their sons A.J., Nick, and Jake.
Also surviving are sister-in-laws Sandi Silvestri Shapiro, JoAnne Hoare, ten grandnieces and
nephews, and his faithful dog Maddie. Mark was predeceased by his stepson Brandon
McGeorge, nephew Joseph Thorton, and beloved dog Jaime.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
