Maria "Mary" Immaculata (DiCola) Benevento

Maria Immaculata (DiCola) Benevento, age 94, of Toms River, New Jersey, formerly of Brooklyn, New York, peacefully passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was known as Mary to all who loved her. Mary was a Brooklyn native, living there for 45 years, where she married the love of her life Frank and the two raised five wonderful children together. She loved to travel, and in her spare time, she enjoyed reading, crocheting, and watching the Turner classic movie channel. Family meant everything to Mary as she was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She now rejoins her beloved husband Frank Benevento in eternal rest. 

Mary was predeceased by her husband; daughter Terry Gaffey; and her brothers Joseph and Salvatore DiCola. She is survived by her loving children and their spouses: Frank Benevento and his wife Andrea of Monroe, NJ; Elizabeth Albanese and her husband Leonard of Toms River, NJ; Josephine Johnston and her husband Matt of Roswell, GA; Laura Hecking and her husband Fred of Pueblo, CO; her sister Millie Marra and her husband, Nicholas, of Brooklyn, NY; her eight cherished grandchildren: James, Vincent, Sean, Amanda, Stephanie, Michael, Gregory, Karyn; and her five precious great-grandchildren: Henry, Joseph, Kim, Alison, and Emily. Mary will be dearly missed, and always in our hearts. 

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 from 2-4PM and 7-9PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ 07735. On Wednesday, June 12, 2019 family and friends are asked to meet at 10AM, with an 11AM service at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Keyport, NJ. A repass will take place after burial at Yesterday's Restaurant, Hazlet, NJ.
