Karen C. (Quinn) Karakitsos

 Karen C. Karakitsos, 68, of Hazlet, NJ passed away Friday, January 3rd, at home with her family by her side. She was the wife of James Karakitsos for over 47 years.
Karen was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 19, 1951, a daughter of the late Catherine (Reilly) and Joseph Quinn. Karen lived in Staten Island then moved to Hazlet 41 years ago.
She retired as a Appeals Officer for the IRS in Newark, after 22 years in 2013. Karen loved Jesus and her Christian faith, devoted her time to her love of animals and greyhound adoption and rescue.
Karen is survived by her devoted husband James, loving daughters Jamie Karakitsos,and Jennifer Cotignola. Also surviving are her cherished sisters Audrey Carroll and Joanne Dattilo and grandchildren Julie and James Cotignola.
Visitation will be held 2 PM to 4 PM and 7 PM to 9 PM on Wednesday, January 8th at Day Funeral Home in Keyport, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers please donations may be made to www.meowinc.org or www.greyhoundsfriendsnj.org
