Joseph A. Petolino, Sr., 97, of Cheesequake Village Old Bridge/Matawan, NJ passed away Monday, May 4th, at his residence with his family by his side.
He was the widower of Michelina Petolino.
Joseph was born in Newark, NJ on July 7, 1922, a son of the late Rose (Vitelli) and Daniel Petolino. Joseph moved 40 years ago to Cheesequake Village.
He served proudly in the U.S. Army Air Corp in WW II. Joseph worked as a moldmaker at Remco in Harrison, NJ, and Eagle Plastic Company, and before that as a tool and die maker at Art Jack in Newark.
Joseph enjoyed his time bowling in Hazlet with the seniors and playing bocci at Cheesequake Village, but his greatest loves were making jewelry for his wife and daughter, making homemade sausage, and rooting for his Yankees. In his younger years, was a member of No Name Athletic Club in the Ironbound section of Newark.
Joseph is survived by his loving children Angela and her husband Lester Johnson, Joseph Petolino Jr. and his companion Mary-Marcia Casoly, and his cherished grandson Derek Johnson and his wife Kate.
Joseph will be entombed with his wife at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Keyport in a private cemetery.
