John M. Gulics Jr., 71, of Matawan passed away peacefeully at home on Sunday, June 27 after a long battle with cancer. He was born and raised in Woodbridge before moving to Matawan with his family over 20 years ago.
He was employed as a property manager with Atlantic Realty Development Corporation for 30 years until his retirement in 2006.
John is predeceased by his parents; John Sr. and Mary Crowley Gulics, his sister Patricia Adell and her husband, Dennis. He is survived by his daughters, Deborah Lacovara, Jennifer Deo and her husband Dennis, and his grandchildren; Angela, Cecelia, Jack, Vincent and AJ, all of Matawan. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews along with many dear friends he considered family.
John lived his life to the fullest and enjoyed many hobbies such as weight-lifting, scuba diving and playing his guitar. He also loved boating and being out on the water fishing and of course the adventurous side of him led him to enjoying motorcycles and his hot rod cars. But his greatest passion was spending time with his children and grandchildren. Whether it be spending the day with them, going to his grandson's ball games or countless family vacations, they were truly the joy of his life.
Relatives and friends are invited Thursday, July 1, 2021 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM and Friday 9 AM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Pl., Keyport, NJ 07735.
