James H. Carr Sr., 87 of Keyport, peacefully passed away Saturday June 26, 2021 at home.
Jim was born in Irvington, New Jersey to the late James S. Carr and Ethel (Ressler) Carr.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War Conflict. He was a GM mechanic for over 30 years and then a custodian at the Marlboro Board of Education school district.
Jim was also predeceased by his beloved wife, Margaret G. Carr in 2004.
He is survived by his beloved children; Thomas J. Carr Sr. and his wife Roseland of Manchester, William A. Carr and his wife, Louann of Old Bridge, Lisa A. Carr of Keyport, Tammy E. Powers and her husband John of Aberdeen, James H. Carr Jr of Keyport and Joseph E. Carr and his wife Eileen of Hazlet.
Also surviving are beloved grandchildren Thomas J. Carr Jr., Tara L. Hannon and her husband Jimmy, Nicole B. Carr and her wife Erin, Daniel W. Carr and his wife Dara, Catherine A. Powers, Joseph T. Powers, Erin R. Powers, Sean P. Carr, Marianne M. Carr; and beloved great-grandchildren Emily, Riley, Brandon, Christiana, Greyson and Christopher and Hannah (who were born on his 87th birthday).
Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation for Jim on Wednesday June 30, 2021 from 2-4PM & 7-9PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place Keyport, New Jersey 07735 and again, on Thursday July 1, 2021 at 10:30AM for an 11AM funeral service at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Saint Joseph's Cemetery of Keyport.
