Obituary
Gertrude Jean Zahner, 86, passed away Thursday September 22, 2022 at Applewood Memory Care of Freehold.
She was born to the late George Joch and Gertrude (Hankinson) Joch.
Gertrude was also predeceased by her beloved husband Frederick Zahner.
Before moving to Freehold Gertrude lived in Old Bridge with her family before moving to Manchester Township where she resided for thirty years.
Gertrude loved traveling, animals, and being an active participant in the senior communities where she lived; especially her involvement in the Red Hat Club.
She is survived by her loving children Gail Jean Zahner of Union Beach, Julie Ann Weiler and her husband Robert of Port Charlotte, Florida; loving grandsons, Shane Raber & wife Katie and Daniel Weiler & wife Jenn; and dear great-grandchildren Gavin and Logan Raber, and Gabriella and Emily Weiler.
At the request of the family Gertrude will be privately cremated and a committal of ashes will take place at a later date in October at William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery of Wrightstown, New Jersey.
Day Funeral Home of Keyport, New Jersey was entrusted with the arrangements.
