Franklin A. Zahn, 92 of Cheesequake (Old Bridge) passed away Saturday,
September 23, 2023 at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel with his
family by his side. He was a graduate of Matawan High School where he
participated in track and football. Frank proudly served his country from
1951 to 1953 as a United States Marine Corps Sergeant, Veteran of the
Korean War. In 1954 he started F. A. Zahn Trucking, Inc. which he
operated for 69 years. Frank was a parishioner of Most Holy Redeemer
R. C. Church, Old Bridge.
Frank is predeceased by his parents; Charles and Addie Louise Zahn and
sisters; Ethel Carrie, Mildred Patterson and Doris Hegeman. He is survived
by his cherished wife; Kathleen (Stein) Zahn of 71 years, loving children
and their spouses; Denise P. and Bryan Crocker of East Brunswick, Frank
D. and Cyndi Zahn of Cheesequake, Mitchell K. and Robin Zahn of
Cheesequake, Lisa A. and Paul Nelson of Tinton Falls, adored
grandchildren; Frank L. Zahn, Erin Schiavino, Lauren Kolmer, Caitlin Porter,
Amanda Madan, Kristoffer Nelson and Lindsey Nelson. He also leaves 8
cherished great grandchildren and his brother Carl Zahn.
Relatives and friends are invited Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 2-4 and
7-9 PM and Friday, September 29, 2023 9 AM at Day Funeral Home, 361
Maple Place, Keyport, NJ 07735. A Funeral Mass will be offered 10 AM at
Most Holy Redeemer RC Church, 133 Amboy Road, Old Bridge (Matawan
07747) followed by entombment at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Keyport.
