Elayne Ruth Savoy, 88, of Keyport, NJ passed away Saturday, April 1st, in Rancocas, NJ. Elayne was born in South Amboy, NJ on August 23, 1934, daughter of the late Frances (Setlock) and Stanley Klebacher.
She lived in Jersey City and Kearny where she married Edward Savoy in 1956. She moved to Piscataway in1960, where she designed and built a custom home.
Elayne was extremely creative and talented, and loved crafting. She was a self-employed seamstress, and Office Manager at Superior Custom Kitchens Warren, NJ until her retirement.
Elayne was a Cub Scout Den Mother, and later used her seamstress skills to make revolutionary war costumes used in parades by her sons and other Boy Scouts. She was an avid walker, loved her cats, and could be seen daily walking her dog, Gizmo, around her Piscataway neighborhood and speaking with neighbors.
Elayne is survived by her devoted children Gregory (Martha), Kenneth and Jeff (Angela), brother-in-law William Lillis, two loving grandchildren, Daniel and Joseph, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers and sisters-in-law Robert, Rita and Eloise Klebacher, and Richard and Margaret (Peggy) Klebacher, and her sister Marilyn Lillis.
Visitation for Elayne will be held from 4 pm to 8 pm Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Day Funeral Home in Keyport, NJ. A 10 am gathering at the funeral home will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am Wednesday at St. Joseph's RCC, Keyport. Burial will follow the Mass at St Joseph’s Cemetery.
