Eileen A. Meehan

Eileen A. Meehan of Hazlet, NJ, died peacefully on August 3, 2022, at the age of 89, after a brief battle with cancer. Eileen was born on November 29, 1932 in Jersey City, New Jersey. Before retiring, Eileen worked for many years at New York Life Insurance Co. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and traveling the world with relatives, especially her cousin and best friend, Barbara Schissel. She loved to laugh and enjoyed chatting with friends & neighbors over a good cup of Irish tea. She was loved by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Elizabeth A. [Callahan] Meehan, & Michael T. Meehan, and siblings Kathleen, Thomas, Margaret [“Peg”], Michael, and Anne. She is survived by her sister Mary E. [Meehan] O’Malley, of San Diego, CA, her sister-in-law Dorothy, and many beloved cousins, nieces & nephews.  Services will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, beginning with a gathering of family & friends at 9:00 am, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ, 07335  A funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 am, at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church on HWY 36, Union Beach, NJ, 07735 In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in the deceased’s name to:Holy Family Catholic Church, Union Beach, NJ, or to Bayshore Health & Hospice Center, 715 N.
