Obituary
Daniel Herseg, 76 of Aberdeen passed away Saturday April 8, 2023 at Bayshore Community Hospital of Holmdel.
He was born in Long Branch, New Jersey to the late Julius J. Herseg and Ann T. (Benesta) Herseg.
Daniel is survived by his beloved wife Kathleen (Lewis) Fitzgerald; his daughter Darleen Herseg and her husband Daniel C. Weltman of Atlantic Highlands; stepchildren Colleen Fitzgerald of Chicago, Illinois, Bryan Fitzgerald and his wife Qiang of Sarasota, Florida, Erin Jenkins of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Kevin Fitzgerald also of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and loving grandchildren Kathleen, Patricia, and Owen Jenkins and Meili Fitzgerald.
Daniel was a proud Navy veteran during the Vietnam War Era.
For many years he worked for the Department of Public Works in Matawan , retiring in 2011.
At the request of the family, Daniel will be privately cremated.
Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial visitation for Daniel on Friday April 14, 2023 at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place Keyport, New Jersey 07735 from 3-7PM.
