Carla G. Stalfa, 73, of Matawan, NJ, passed away Friday, July 29, at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune.
Carla was born in South Amboy, NJ, on August 22, 1948, to the late John and Gloria Bunger. She lived most of her life in the Cliffwood/Matawan area and worked professionally as a clinical researcher for several pharmaceutical companies for many years.
Carla loved spending time with her family. She was an amazing mother, sister, auntie, cousin and friend. She treated her nieces and nephews like they were her own children and always spoiled her family with love. She raised two children and was a godmother to several family members. She always spoke highly of her childhood friends, her coworkers and all the people she met along her life’s journey.
She lived life to the fullest. Bright, cheerful, kind and generous, Carla was a positive force in all the lives she touched every day. She enjoyed gardening and loved to travel and see the world. Her trips to Italy with her children and siblings were among her most treasured moments.
Carla is survived by her two loving children, Marisa Stalfa and William Stalfa, William’s wife Caroline and their cherished son, Eli. She is also survived by devoted siblings John, Richard and Debra Bunger, as well as her beloved niece Carla Donahue, her husband Brian and their son Keegan.
Visitation for Carla will be Thursday, August 4, 2022, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport. A funeral service will be held Friday, August 5, at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. with interment following at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Keyport.
