Annette C. Kovacs, of Keyport, passed away at home on Sunday April 11th, 2021.
Annette was born in East Newark, NJ and Graduated from Keyport High School in 1960. She was a girl scout leader, a softball coach for St Joseph’s CYO league, Life Member of Keyport Fire Patrol’s Ladies Auxiliary, Past President of the Monmouth County Federation of Republican Women, Past President and Treasurer of the Keyport Republican Club, Past Member of the Keyport Library Board of Trustees, Former Member of the Keyport Board of Heath, former member of the Matawan Junior Women’s Club, where she held various positions, and Past President of the Keyport Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary Marching Unit. She worked for Alston School Photography and for the Borough of Keyport, she retired in 2006 as a Clerk in the Building Department.
Annette was very involved in her children’s lives and enjoyed spending time with her family, along with traveling with her husband going on many vacations and cruises. She enjoyed being involved in her community and local and county politics. Every Christmas she baked cookies to share with friends and family and liked to host family gatherings.
She is predeceased by her parents Herbert and Ruth (Nee Read) Tomlinson, sisters Alberta Disbrow and Ruth Munsey, Brother Harry Tomlinson and his wife Brenda.
She leaves behind her husband of almost 60 years John Kovacs, her daughters Camille Getter, Bernadette Johnson both of Burgaw, NC and Jacqueline Kovacs-Olsen and son-in-law David Olsen both Keyport, NJ, and Her brother in law Ronald Disbrow and Sister in Law Elaine Bagshaw.
She is also survived by her precious grandchildren Tyler Getter, Joshua Schramm, John Kovacs III and Jeanette Olsen, as well as her lifelong friend June Atkins, nieces, a nephew, many cousins and extended family.
Relatives and friends are invited Friday April 23, 2021 from 2-4 & 6-9 PM and Saturday April 24, 2021 from 11 - 11:45 AM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Pl., Keyport NJ 07735. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday 12 PM at St. Joseph RC Church, Keyport followed by burial at Shoreland Memorial Garden, Hazlet.
