Anna Marie (Saccone) Gattullo

Anna Marie Gattullo died on October 22, 2020 peacefully in her sleep at her home in Matawan, NJ.   Born on Staten Island on May 25, 1938, Anna Marie grew up on Westervelt Avenue on the North Shore. Loved by her parents Albert and Carmela Saccone. Cherished by her siblings Susan and Paul.  

She was always getting into trouble with the boys making mud balls with her buddy Nicky or kicking a full paint can down the stairs when she tried to help her father paint. She was a Saint Peter’s Girl, attending the school from K through 12th grade. Upon graduation she was a bookkeeper in Manhattan eventually marrying Anthony Gattullo in the early 50’s and were together for 20 plus years.

Anna Marie gave birth to two children Deirdre and Albert and was a stay at home parent until the late 70’s when she went to work for an accountant, eventually working for the Staten Island Advance, Staten Island Hospital and then Working 18 years with the Waterfront Commission of NY as a receptionist.

In retirement, she left Staten Island and settled in Matawan, NJ to be near her grandchildren and her daughter. She loved shopping, travelling and doting on her 3 grandchildren, spoiling them as much as she could. It was her joy to see her granddaughters perform on summer stage, dance and any project they were involved in. Anna Marie is survived by her daughter Deirdre, her son Albert and her grandchildren Jack, Daryn and Isabella. 

Visitation will be held Monday at the funeral home from 4-8pm. A funeral will be held Tuesday 9am at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10am at St. Lawrence RCC, Laurence Harbor. Entombment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown, NJ.
