Amado P. Benito, 66 of Keyport, NJ, passed away last Friday, February 5, 2021, at Bayshore Medical Center, Holmdel NJ.
He was born in Sta. Maria, Pangasinan, Philippines to the late Maximo Benito and Agustina Pascua. He is survived by his loving wife, Bernarda "Berni" Benito, 1 brother from Oxnard, California, 4 sisters and another brother in the Philippines, a number of relatives, nieces, nephews, most especially his beloved niece, Krizzle Ann Valdez, whom he loved as a daughter, and his friends he made through the years here in New Jersey.
Amado received his Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from Technological University of the Philippines. He worked at the Bureau of Public Works before going to Saudi Arabia where he worked as a Lead Project Engineer for road building for various companies from 1980-1991.
He worked odd jobs when he first came to America, and finally landed a job he liked at a global computer company, for many years, up to his retirement in 2016.
Amado had a great sense of humor; he was witty and had a very big heart. He is loved by many friends and by his community especially from his "barrio" (town) in the Philippines. He had a passion for traveling with his "honeybun", loved serving the church, and helping people. He was a devoted husband and a kind-hearted friend. His warm smile, kind eyes and gentle words will be forever missed but never forgotten.
Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation for Amado on Friday February 12, 2021 from 5PM to 9PM at Day Funeral Home 361 Maple Place Keyport, New Jersey 07735 and again on Saturday February 13, 2021 9AM at the funeral home for a 10AM Funeral Mass at St. Benedict's RC Church of Holmdel.
Following mass, Amado will be privately cremated.
