Agnes Catherine Gerhard (Shuster), 93 of Cliffwood Beach, New Jersey passed away Friday June 12, 2020 at Anchor Care and Rehabilitation Center of Hazlet.
Agnes was born in Union, New Jersey to the late Charles A. Shuster and Wilhelmina (Laber) Shuster.
She would go on to become a high school graduate and later came to work as an Assembly Worker manufacturing vacuum tubes for televisions for the Westinghouse Company in Rahway, New Jersey.
Her nieces recall their Aunt's fondness for dancing, a local bowling league which she was an active participant in for many years, her good sense of humor, an active communicant and choir member of St. Joseph's Church for many years, her flirtatious personality, and how she was their favorite Aunt.
Agnes was predeceased by her beloved husband Lester Franklin Gerhard and sisters Theresa and Rose Shuster.
Agnes leaves behind a dear sister Mary A. Barankovich, several beloved neices Bernadine Applegate and her husband Charles, Marianne Demchak, Teresa Wickham and her husband Robert, Audrey Dzema, Grace Hyman and her husband Joseph and Fay Trisker and her husband Daniel, Deborah Shirley Gerhard and a nephew Donald Clark Gerhard; 18 great-nieces and nephews and 9 great-grand Nieces and Nephews.
Friends and relatives are invited to a visitation for Agnes on Tuesday June 16, 2020 from 4PM to 8PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place Keyport, New Jersey 07735 and also Wednesday June 17, 2020 9:15 AM at the funeral home for a 10 AM Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Joseph's Church of Keyport.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery of Keyport.
Current restrictions due to the Pandemic limit the number of people allowed in to the church for the Funeral Mass to 25 people Max. These guidelines follow the directives of the Catholic Archdiocese of Trenton.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc.
