Winifred M. Sheehan (Lynch), 84, recently of Tinton falls, formerly of Hazlet, passed away peacefully, Sunday, December 17, 2017, at The Renaissance Gardens, Seabrook Village, Tinton Falls, NJ.

She was born in Teaneck and grew up in Palisades Park, NJ, before settling in Hazlet in 1959, where she raised five children with her husband Bill.

Winifred worked as an Income Tax Consultant for H & R Block and S &S Financial Service for many years, retiring in 2003.

She was predeceased by her parents, James Lynch and Winifred (Hayden) Lynch; and her beloved husband William J. Sheehan.

She is survived by her loving children, Theresa Mullins and her husband Timothy of Freehold; Kathleen Stiles and her husband John of Leonardo; William Sheehan and his wife Patricia of Howell; Patricia Lang and her husband Michael of Marlboro; and Robert Sheehan and his wife Melissa of Herdon, Virginia.

Winifred is also survived by 15 cherished grandchildren;  four adored great-grandchildren; and her sister and brother-in-law, Florence and Frank Henry of Corpus Christi, TX.

She was admired for, above all things, her ability to treat others with respect and touch the lives of all who met her.

Winifred loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly, as well as the beach and being creative.

She had a magical touch with flowers, owning a flower business, she affectionately named Flowers by Wynne.  This gave her an opportunity to travel throughout the state, going to various craft shows and showcasing her talents.

She was the Hazlet Hawks Pop-Warner Football League’s Cheerleading and Twirling coach for many years and also held the position of Cheerleading Commissioner for the Jersey Shore Pop-Warner Football and Cheerleading during those years.  She volunteered as a Hazlet Girl Scouts Leader for one of Hazlet’s troops.

A sun worshiper and water lover, Winifred was a longtime member of the Hazlet Swim and Tennis Club, but especially loved the beach.

She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Friends and family are invited for visitation for Winifred on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, from 2-4PM & 6-8PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place Keyport, New Jersey 07735,
