Wilhelmina Holmes

Wilhelmina “Minnie” Rose (Borowsky) Holmes, 79, of Matawan, passed away, Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at home surrounded by her husband and children.  She was born in Old Bridge.  She was a homemaker and devout catholic. Minnie touched every life with limitless kindness and unconditional love.  She gave of herself selflessly and endlessly.  She was a faithful wife, a loving Matriarch and our best friend.  She will remain the center of all our lives.  She is surely a welcome addition to God’s Angels and will be missed by all of God’s children. 

 Minnie was predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Martha (Musolf) Borowsky; three brothers, Joseph, Ernest and Theodore Borowsky; and two sisters, Martha Bedle and Catherine Tomasello.  

She is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Donald Holmes; her loving children, Donald Holmes and his wife Deborah of Matawan; Donna McCann and her husband Curt of Louisiana; Ernest Holmes and his wife Delania of Cusseta, GA; Joseph Holmes and his wife Marguerita of Marfreesboro, TN; Martha Chiarella and her husband Robert of Cusseta, GA; and John Holmes and his fiancé Alicia Jorgensen of Middletown; two brothers, Francis and Anthony Borowsky; her cherished grandchildren, Christopher, Amanda, Shawna, DJ, Tara, Taryn, Phillip, Sloane, Diana, Desiree, William, Devin, Dustin, Bobby, Nicole, Donna, Tyler, Riley, Raelyn; her precious great grandchildren, Aurora, Easton, McKenzie, AJ, Danielle and Ayden; as well as step great grandchildren, Matthew and Jeremiah.  She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, November 19, 2017, from 2-4 & 7-9PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ  07735; and Monday, November 20, 2017, 8:45AM at the funeral home, with a 9:30AM Funeral Mass at St. Joseph RC Church, Keyport.  Entombment will follow at Marlboro Memorial Cemetery and Mausoleum.
