Sylvia E. (Newman) Davies

      Sylvia E. Davies, 88, recently of Matawan, formerly of East Brunswick, passed away Saturday August 25, 2018 at Madison Center of Matawan when she succumbed to dementia, a form of Alzheimer's disease.
       Prior to the onset of dementia, Sylvia loved to play bingo, paint, knit, crochet, puzzles, movies, music, and participate in charity events.
       She also loved to travel, was always on the go, and was up to a trip to Friendly's any time of the day. Her car, a 1998 Jetta, had over 200,000 miles on it. Sylvia also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was a lover of life with an infectious smile.
       She will be missed by her loving daughter and son in law Betty Jean and Richard Werner of Laurence Harbor, her son and daughter in law James and Juanita Davies of Eatontown; her niece Janet Blankenship of Albany, Oregon; her nephews Richard Della Pietro of Edison and Edward Della Pietro of Scottsville, Kentucky; grand-dogs Milton and Jake Werner and her many friends at Madison Center of Matawan.
       Friends and family are invited to a visitation for Sylvia on Tuesday August 28, 2018 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at Day Funeral Home 361 Maple Place Keyport, New Jersey 07735 with a service in the evening during the visitation.  
       At the request of the family, following visitation, Sylvia will be privately cremated.
