Richard Warren Wendell

Richard Warren Wendell, 67, of Lakewood, passed away Saturday December 7, 2019 at home.

He was born in Orange, New Jersey to the late Ernest J. Wendell and Alice (Gearl) Wendell.

He is survived by by his children Robert Wendell and his long-time companion Ann Marie Diaz and her son Donavin Diaz of Cliffwood Beach; Jaclyn Marottoli and her Husband Peter of Parlin; grandchildren Madison, Emma and Antonio Marottoli; a sister Judi Hoffer and her husband George of Toms River; a Niece Samantha Hoffer and Nephew Patrick Hoffer and his wife Marianne; and mother of Richard's children and former wife, Joann Gonzalez and her husband Lou of Keyport.

Richard was a high school graduate and the former Business owner of Old Towne Deli of South Amboy.

He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War from 1972 until his honorable discharge in 1975.

At the request of his family, Richard's services and cremation are private.

Friends and relatives are invited to a celebration of life gathering in honor of Richard, on Saturday December 14, 2019 at his daughter's house.
