Philomena N. (Sannelli) Papa

Philomena N. Papa, age 96, of Matawan, formally of Holmdel, peacefully passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, October 27, 2018. She was born on December 27, 1921 to Frank and Philomena Sannelli in Hazlet. Philomena was a clerk for Matawan Borough upon her retirement. She was a member of St. Clements R.C. Church in Matawan, and Club 60 in Matawan. She now rejoins her beloved husband, Ralph Papa in eternal rest.
She is predeceased by her parents, husband, and siblings: Antoinette Adario; Helen Speziale; Jennie Tomaino; Frank, Pat, and Thomas Sannelli. She is survived by her three adoring children: Louis Papa and his wife Sally of Winchester, VA; Raymond Papa and his wife Mariclaire of Manalapan, NJ; John Papa and his wife Lynne of Aberdeen, NJ; her sister; Mary Caliendo of Hazlet, NJ; her five cherished grandchildren: Christopher, Joseph, Michael, Christina, and Katherine Papa; and her two precious greatgrandchildren: William and Caroline Papa; and her dear friend and loving caregiver, Halyna Shlyusar. Philomena will be dearly missed, and always in our hearts.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, 07735, Keyport, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at 10AM at St. Clements, Matawan, NJ. Interment will follow mass at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Keyport, NJ.
