Peter A. Cherence, age 72, of Aberdeen, NJ formerly of Jersey City, NJ peacefully passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at home, surrounded by his loving family. Peter was born in Jersey City on November 1, 1946 to Daniel and Clara (Gasiorowski) Cherence. He was a truck driver for 42 years, for Yellow Freight in Elizabeth, NJ upon his retirement. Peter was a member of St. Joseph's Knights of Columbus 3402, and he was a part of the Parish at St. Joseph's RC Church.
Peter is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Elizabeth (Hill) Cherence of Aberdeen, NJ; his five adoring children and their spouses: Jennifer and Walter Acuna of Keyport, NJ; Daniel Cherence and his wife Deborah of Manahawkin, NJ; Peter Cherence Jr. and his wife Cheri of Pocono Lake, PA; Paul Cherence and his wife Nicole of Lakehurst, NJ; Michael Cherence and his wife Lisa of East Brunswick, NJ; his two loving brothers: Richard Cherence of Highlands, NJ; and David Cherence of Forked River, NJ; and his 10 cherished grandchildren. Peter will be dearly missed, and always in our hearts.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation, Tuesday, February 5, 2019 from 2-4PM & 7-9PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ 07735, and Wednesday, 9:15AM followed by a 10AM Mass at St. Joseph's RC Church, Keyport.
