Mary F. (Martin) Gutierrez, 75, of Hazlet, passed away, Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at home surrounded by her family.  She was born and raised in the Bronx, NY, where she attended St. Pius H.S. graduating in 1959.  She married her husband, Louis Gutierrez in May 1964 and moved to Hazlet in 1967 where she raised her four children.  Mary retired in 2012, after 23 years of service at Fort Monmouth as an EEO Specialist for the US Army. She was a parishioner at St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church, Holmdel; a member of the Keyport-Matawan Elks; volunteer for the American Lung Association and American Heart Association and coached Hazlet youth sports.  
 
Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband, Louis Gutierrez in May 2015; her parents, James and Mary Ellen (Hogan) Martin; and siblings, Ann Surianni, James Martin and Owen Martin.  She is survived by her loving children, Guy Gutierrez, Lisa Brown and her husband Robert, Gil Gutierrez and Garth Gutierrez and his wife Lauren; a brother, Bernard Martin and his wife Patricia; and her very loved and cherished grandchildren, Alex, Austin, Anna, GiannaMarie, Robert, Vittoria, Luca, Gabriella Nicole, Ava Marie and Ashley Faith. Mary was a very devoted mother and grandmother and she will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends. 
 
Visitation will take place on Sunday, July 23, 2017, from 2-6pm. A Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, July 24, 2017, at 10:00AM at St. Benedict RC Church, Holmdel.  Interment will follow at the Brig. General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made on Mary's behalf to the Lupus Foundation or the ASPCA of Monmouth County.
