Margaret M. Cleary (O'Sullivan), 77, of Matawan, NJ passed away peacefully on Thursday October 31, 2019 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ to the late George S. O'Sullivan and Margaret (Gasparik) O'Sullivan.
Margaret was a High School graduate from the all-girls Catholic High School, The Academy of Saint Aloysius of Jersey City. Margaret worked for Bell Labs of Holmdel as a Secretary, where she retired in 1996. She was a Mother, Grandmother and Friend who loved family, community and camping.
Margaret was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Parish, St. Joseph's Church of Keyport for 55 years. She served the church community in several ways as a Marriage Encounter leader, member of the Parish Council, Eucharistic Minister, member of the Saint Vincent DePaul Society, and a member of the well-known Haiti Committee, of St. Joseph's Church, that is dedicated to helping and ministering it's sister parish in Pignon, Haiti.
She was predeceased by her husband Charles T. Cleary; two sons Charles S. Cleary and Christopher G. Cleary; and a grandson Daniel Cleary.
She is survived by her beloved daughter Patrice Cleary and son-in-law Daniel McCool of Scotch Plains, NJ; two daughters-in-law, Donna Cleary of Matawan, NJ and Tammy Cleary of Ijamsville, MD; four grandsons Charles W. and Thomas Cleary of Matawan, John and Morgan Cleary of Ijamsville, MD and one granddaughter, Alison Cleary also of Ijamsville, MD.
All services were private for Margaret.
The family of Margaret invites friends and family to a Memorial Mass in memory of Margaret, celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Parish (St. Joseph's Church) of Keyport, Saturday November 16, 2019 at 10:00 AM.
