Manuel R. Rios, age 90, of Aberdeen, New Jersey, went home to be with God on Thursday, July 18, 2019. Manuel was born in Gibara, Cuba on June 12, 1929 to Luisa and Antonio Rios. He married the love of his life, Adamina, and the two raised two wonderful children together. Manuel was highly educated, after receiving his Doctorate of Law, he became a lawyer in Cuba before becoming a teacher for Matawan Regional High School in Matawan, New Jersey for 30 years. Manuel loved reading books, learning, educating, and listening to classical music. He was known to be extremely warm and generous to the people in his life. A God fearing man, he was a beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, educator, and friend.
Manuel was predeceased by his parents, and his siblings: Alberto Rios, Antonio Rios, Jr., Gilberto Rios, Juan Rios, Roberto Rios, Martha Rios, and Maura Rios. He is survived by his beloved wife, Adamina Rios of Aberdeen, NJ; his daughter, Sylvia Rios, and her husband, Abdul Elgamraoui of Aberdeen, NJ; his son, Santiago Rios and his fiancé, Cathy Jaeger of Tinton Falls, NJ; his loving brothers: Jesus and Luis Rios of Manhatten, NY; and his cherished grandson, Christopher Rios. Manuel will be dearly missed, and always in our hearts.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Sunday, July 21, 2019 from 2-4PM and 7-9PM. A Prayer Service will be offered at 8PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, New Jersey, 07735. In respect of Mr. Rios' wishes, he will be privately cremated.
