Malgretta Fennick Obituary

Mrs. Malgretta Fennick (Haynes), the daughter of the late Eddie and Annie Haynes, was born on January 18, 1942 in Moncks Corner, South Carolina.  She entered into an eternal rest on March 1, 2019 at home, in Matawan, Jersey.

Malgretta received her education in the public schools of Berkeley County, where she graduated from Berkeley Training School.  Upon graduation she moved to Newark, New Jersey.  After settling into her life in New Jersey, she was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, John C. Fennick (a.k.a. JC), in 1962.
She began her life with her husband and her career working in banking at Howard Savings Bank.  Malgretta worked for many years at the bank as a Student Loan Agent in Newark.  She and her husband then decided to buy their first house and move to Matawan, New Jersey.  With her career in banking, being so successful she then transferred to Howard Savings Bank in New Brunswick, New Jersey, where she later retired.  Even though she retired from banking, she continued to work to help support and partner with her husband as he started his own trucking company.

Malgretta was predeceased by her parents Eddie Haynes and Annie L. (Legree) Haynes of Moncks Corner, SC; husband John C. Fennick of Matawan, NJ; siblings Sandy F. Haynes of Columbia SC; Ervin Haynes of Cocoa Beach, FL; and Yohanna Haynes of Matawan, NJ.  She leaves to cherish her memory sisters Queen Ester Haynes of Matawan, NJ and Louise Brown of Moncks Corner, SC; a sister-in-law Mildred Whitney Haynes of Columbia, SC and a host of nieces and nephews.

At the request of her family, Malgretta will be privately cremated. Day Funeral Home of Keyport was entrusted with the arrangements. The family will hold a service in celebration of her life at a later date.
