Lydia M. Javora, age 78, of Hazlet, New Jersey formerly of Brooklyn, New York, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, April 19, 2019. Lydia was born in Brooklyn on February 4, 1941 to Donald and Agnes Decker. Lydia married her husband John, and they raised two wonderful daughters, Hillary and Eileen, together. She worked as an Assistant Bursar at Monmouth University for more than 20 years before her retirement. Many Monmouth University students affectionately referred to her as "Mom". Lydia was active in the parish at St. Benedict's RC Church in Holmdel for many years. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Lydia was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
She is survived by her beloved husband, John Javora, of Hazet, NJ; a brother, Donald Decker, of Long Island; her two loving daughters and their spouses: Hillary Smith and her husband Michael of Toms River, NJ; Eileen Javora and her husband Justin Boger of Placerville, CA. She also leaves behind her four cherished grandchildren: Stephen and Courtney Smith; Hazel and Lillian Boger. Lydia will be dearly missed, and always in our hearts.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 from 4-7PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ, 07735. Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at 10AM, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Benedict's RC Church in Holmdel, NJ. Interment will follow mass at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Keyport, NJ.
