Leon P. “Butch” Ferrari Jr., 74, of Aberdeen, passed away Saturday August 26, 2017 at home.
He was the longtime owner of Ferrari and Son Auto Body of New Brunswick.
Leon was born in Perth Amboy and has resided in Aberdeen for many years.
He was predeceased by his parents Leon Ferrari and Julia (Petrick) Ferrari; as well as his beloved wife Joan (Bierilo) Ferrari in 2012.
Mr. Ferrari is survived by his beloved children Brian Ferrari and his wife Stephanie of Aberdeen; Leigh Anne Tamburella and her husband Peter also of Aberdeen; and Laura Janwich and her husband Michael of Matawan.
Leon also leaves behind five cherished grandchildren Jamie Schumann and her Husband Michael, Kevin Janwich, and Noel, Billy and Raven Ferrari.
In addition, he also leaves behind three cherished great grandchildren Remy and Michael Schumann and Liam Ferrari.
Leon loved, above all other things, his family first. He also enjoyed drag racing with his son Brian, the love of all things “cars”, his ’66 Chavelle, cooking, backyard barbeques, and his dog Precious.
A visitation will be held for Leon on Wednesday August 30, 2017 from 4-8PM at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place Keyport, New Jersey 07735. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home Wednesday evening at 7:30PM during the visitation.
Following the visitation, cremation will be private.
