Leo C. Mania, 79, a lifelong resident of Keyport, passed away, Tuesday, February 06, 2018, at home, with his wife and daughter by his side. He worked with the U.S. Postal Service, Keyport, for 31 years, retiring as Postmaster towards the end of his career. He was a communicant of St. Joseph RC Church, Keyport; a Keyport Planning Board member from 1983-1990; and the Keyport Kiwanis for over 25 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army during peacetime.
Leo was predeceased by his parents, Leo J. and Jane Mania; his sister, Joan Hester and a nephew, Howard Hester. He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 60 years of marriage in May 2018, Carol (Lafayette) Mania; a devoted daughter, Dana Mania and her longtime companion, Robert Meehan of Keyport; a son, Joseph Mania and his wife of Freehold; two adored nieces, Connie Anderson of Union Beach and Debbie Shah of Hazlet; one granddaughter, Danielle Mania of West Long Branch; and his faithful companion, Basset Hound Roxie. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, February 8, 2018, from 4-8PM, at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ 07735; and Friday, February 9, 2018, 10AM, with a 10:30 Funeral Service at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Keyport. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Leo to the Tri-State Basset Hound Rescue, P.O.
